| The Beef Herd is supplied with calves from local farms such as Sindles Farm, Aldsworth and some pure Sussex calves from Lordington Farm.
The calves are reared in straw yards and go out to grass in the summer, then come back in, to fatten
off, for the farm shop. Most of our cattle are from single suckled calves reared on the Walderton
Down, and then are finished at Adsdean. These are mainly Aberdeen Angus (to produce quality meat)
crossed with a Simmental (for the size). |
